God moves in mysterious ways to perform His wonders.
He works and speaks in various ways.
At times your mentors or counselors give counsels according to experience (how they handled some issues during their time) especially on marriage and relationships. But you still need divine wisdom to apply counsel accordingly.
The fact that your mentor saw a revelation or dreamt before courtship does not mean the Lord will minister to you in like manner. Yours may be through His Word or Trance.
Many youths make planned after their discipler, mentor or counselor: as important as these people are in our lives, God still has the final say.
