"And Jacob loved Rachel; and said, I will serve there seven years for Rachel thy younger daughter.

Some believe there is need for courtship, while some did not believe, on the ground that Adam did not court Eve. Can a man marry a woman immediately he sets his eyes on her?
We thank God for people like Jacob who served for many years before marrying his lovely woman.
There is a period of time in which a couple-to-be set apart, in order for them to get everything they think they will need, in order for them succeed in their marital journey, which may not necessarily to be material things only.
It could be the need to pray more and consider the word of God more to determine the mind of God for their home. The duration of this period of time can now depend on how each given couple can put together what they believe they need for their journey which must not necessarily be long.
It's a time of Marriage preparations not only wedding preparations.
